December

20th Dec 2023

December has been a very busy, but magical month in our school. The pupils have been involved in a variety of Christmas activities and have got into the Christmas spirit.

Sleigh rides - Killarney Sleigh Rides came to our school like they do every year and brought each class for a trip around the grounds. Our pupils admired the beautiful lights on the sleigh and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Milltown Choir - pupils from Milltown Primary School came for a visit to our school where they sang many Christmas carols for the pupils and staff at our school. It was an outstanding performance.

Busking - our annual busking trip was another huge success in the Killarney Outlet Centre this year. It was full of laughter and joy and it got everyone in the Christmas Spirit. Many people even say it marks the beginning of Christmas for them.

Santa’s Grotto - we created a magical Santas grotto in our school this month. We made sure it was very homely for Santa to come visit our school. He had a wonderful time visiting and he got to meet all of our pupils and gave each of them a lovely present.

Mercy Visit - The Mercy Primary School invited us into their school to watch an incredible performance by their 5th and 6th class pupils of ‘The Yellow Brick Road’. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

There was lots of Christmas baking and arts and crafts happening in December, the pupils and staff were immersed in Christmas activities which created an atmosphere of joy, laughter and happiness throughout the school.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a very Happy New Year from all at St Francis Special School!
