The pupils of SFSS have access to a broad range of curriculum experiences based on the Guidelines for Teachers of Students with General Learning Disabilities and the Primary School Curriculum. The children follow the curriculum/ guidelines for the following subjects: Language and communication, mathematics, history, geography, science, visual art, drama, music, P.E., S.P.H.E, Religion (if indicated by parents) and home economics.
One strength of the school lies in its capacity to match work and activities to abilities and aptitudes as well as to needs. We offer variety, balance and relevance in our school programmes, which are regularly updated to meet individual needs. Our staff constantly updates their knowledge base by attending courses in all areas of Special Education.
Our last Inspector’s Report (2013) stated ‘The quality of teaching and learning throughout the school is highly commendable’.
